Dr. Saliha Kozan

Licensed Psychologist


Dr. Saliha Kozan is licensed in California, United States as a psychologist. She has worked with individuals of all ages with a wide range of psychological concerns. Dr. Saliha uses a holistic, strength-based approach to facilitate positive change and growth through psychological assessment and psychotherapy. She integrates a social justice perspective into all aspects of her work, and she is passionate about promoting mental health in ethnically, culturally, and economically diverse communities. 

Dr. Saliha earned a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Boston College and a master’s degree in Counseling from Michigan State University. She gained clinical experience in hospitals, schools, university counseling centers, and a community mental health center. Following her neuropsychological assessment training at the Neurology Department of Boston University, she completed two years of training at Brookline Community Mental Health Center in the Greater Boston Area. She subsequently completed an internship at University of California, Los Angeles and a post-doctoral residency at University of California, San Diego.  Dr. Saliha specializes in culturally responsive and evidence-based practices including cognitive behavior therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and mindfulness- and acceptance-based treatment approaches.

Given her interest in bridging research with practice, Dr. Saliha has conducted research for over a decade. She has published scientific articles and book chapters focusing on mental health, psychology of working, culture, and social justice, and she presented her research in professional conferences. In addition to teaching and supervising undergraduate and graduate psychology trainees for many years, Dr. Saliha has led research teams and supervised research assistants in various projects at Boston College.
