Responsibilities:
- Support the student in maintaining appropriate classroom behavior and social interactions.
- Assist the student in completing classroom tasks and staying engaged during lessons.
- Help implement accommodations and strategies outlined in the student's Individualized Educational Plan (IEP).
- Coach the student on effective learning techniques to encourage independence and participation.
- Provide support in preparing the student for class activities and transitions.
- Monitor and record student progress through regular data collection and observation.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to align on strategies and report progress.
- Encourage and model positive coping and self-regulation techniques in the classroom environment.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Early Childhood Education, Psychology, or a related field.
- Experience of 2 years working with children is preferred.
- Experience in social Services such as healthcare, behavioral healthcare or education is preferable.
