Who we are
Fawzia Sultan Healthcare Network (FSHN) is a nonprofit healthcare organization in Kuwait that provides high-quality care across a number of clinical specialties. Founded in 2006, we started as a specialized physiotherapy clinic, and pioneered a new standard of excellence within the field in Kuwait. However, it soon became apparent that the healthcare needs of the Kuwaiti community ran much deeper and we expanded our nonprofit, evidence-based model to multiple other specialties.

Over time, we have grown into one of Kuwait’s leading nonprofit healthcare institutions that provides holistic and multidisciplinary care for patients with a range of health and behavioral health concerns. We are proud of our world class clinical team, our uniquely high standard of care, our holistic treatment approach, and our nonprofit status which ensures that our focus always remains on what’s best for our patients and communities.

We approach our patient-care from a multidisciplinary and holistic perspective. Our team of specialized and internationally-trained clinicians provides comprehensive and evidence-based treatment programs across various clinical specialties including the following:

 • The Physiotherapy Department offers a range of services including orthopedics, manual therapy, myofascial release, PNF, lymphatic drainage, electrotherapy, electrostimulation, acupuncture, sports physiotherapy, sports massage, women’s health, health coaching, exercise therapy, and more.

 • The Department of Mental Health and Wellness offers psychotherapy and counseling services for almost all mental health concerns. The department provides individual, family, and couples counseling, psychological assessments, and group therapy. Services are available in-person and via telehealth.

 • The Children's Evaluation and Rehabilitation Center (CERC) offers specialized interdisciplinary treatment for children including comprehensive assessments, speech and language pathology, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, sensory integration, counseling and mental health care, and Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA).

• The Neurorehabilitation and Elderly Care Unit offers holistic care for seniors and people of all ages with neurological conditions in-clinic and at home.

OUR STORY
OUR COMMUNITY
Fawzia Sultan Healthcare Network (FSHN) is a Kuwait-based non-profit, multi-disciplinary healthcare institution, providing high-quality, integrated care across a number of clinical specialties. FSHN was founded in 2006, where it was originally known as Fawzia Sultan Rehabilitation Institute.

Our founders had initially set out to establish a specialized physiotherapy clinic that would institute a new standard of excellence within the field in Kuwait; hoping to fill what seemed to be major gap in the country’s healthcare landscape at the time. However, it soon became apparent that the healthcare needs of the Kuwaiti community ran much deeper, and the clinic’s non-profit, evidence-based model was expanded to multiple other specialties.

Over the course of a few short years, the one-time physiotherapy clinic evolved into a holistic healthcare institution providing multi-disciplinary rehabilitative services, and was eventually renamed the Fawzia Sultan Rehabilitation Institute (FSRI).

FSHN Children’s Evaluation and Rehabilitation Center (CERC) opened its doors in 2013 to provide specialized treatment for children. The Center tailors treatment programs based on the individual needs and assessment of each child, with the goal of helping children live a more independent life. Our team of pediatric specialists provides comprehensive therapy programs for babies, children and young adults across a number of areas, including: physical therapy, speech pathology, counseling, behavior therapy, Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA), and occupational therapy. Our treatment programs set specific and individualized goals to ensure that every child achieves his/her maximum level of functioning. Our evidence-based and family-centric approach aims to ensure optimal level of physical, emotional and mental health and wellness for children. At CERC, we are fully aware that rehabilitative therapy can be overwhelming for a young child. Therefore, our considerate specialists do their best to treat children with tender care and patience, working hard to make the therapy experience pleasant and fun for the child. The Center offers one-to-one and group sessions, as well as complete assessments and treatments out of the center. We work with children, as well as their parents and caregivers, to evaluate and treat a broad range of complex needs and conditions.

In 2017, our organization made the official transition into Fawzia Sultan Healthcare Network (FSHN), to better reflect who we are today. Today, we are proud to say that FSHN remains the only non-profit healthcare organization of its kind in Kuwait.
As a non-profit organization, FSHN, is dedicated to improving the health and well-being of our patients and the communities we serve. With the generous support of our corporate partners, individual donors, and collaboration with likeminded nonprofits and NGO’s, we have designed and implemented numerous social development initiatives that raise awareness and provide support for health challenges in our communities.

RunQ8 is one of our biggest and most successful initiatives to date. In 2010, we saw that many children with disabilities were unable to access the long-term care they needed due to the financial limitations of their families. Consequently, many children simply went without care and their problems worsened. To fill this gap in the community, we developed a charity walkathon/run called RunQ8. This event has now grown to become one of the most prominent community healthcare fundraisers in the country. Each year, the event raises awareness about children with disabilities and funds CERC, our specialized clinic for children. The proceeds of RunQ8 allow us to provide necessary care to children whose families have financial need at a greatly reduced cost or, in many cases, for free.

As a result, we are now able to ensure that our most vulnerable populations in Kuwait have access to world-class care.
