I bring my creative insight, intuition, and extensive knowledge of the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of human illness and healing to my work as a physician. I am U.S. board-certified in Family Medicine and integrative medicine practice and I have been practicing traditional and integrative family medicine for 20+ years. After decades of experience, I decided to focus my practice on how I think medical care should be- spending time with patients, learning about aspects of their lives and health histories, conducting thorough and careful evaluations, and building trusting and healing relationships. In so doing, I am better able to know my patients and implement more personalized treatment plans that get results.
After attending Al-Bayan Bilingual School, I moved to Texas and completed my schooling there. I went on to earn my undergraduate degree in Nutrition from the University of Texas at Austin and then obtained my medical degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. I completed my medical training in Houston at Memorial Hermann Southwest Family Medicine Residency Program in 2002 and served as Chief Resident in my last year. I also completed a Fellowship at the prestigious Andrew Weil Fellowship in Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona.
I offer consultations via telehealth and in-person and work with people who speak both English and Arabic.
How I can help you:
I work with patients from age 5 on up and I diagnose and treat a wide range of problems- from simple problems to more complex concerns. I will take a lot of time to get to know you, your health goals, and concerns. I will collect a lot of data and bio-markers to completely understand what’s going on with your mind and body. Using this data, we will then work together to develop a comprehensive and personalized health plan. Your plan will be precise and will be based on cutting-edge science and evidence from conventional medicine and integrative and alternative options. We will track your progress carefully, maintain open communication throughout, and adjust as we progress.
I also see patients seeking second opinions and will happily work closely with your current medical team.
I believe that you immediately become more effective when you decide to change yourself rather than asking things to change for you.
